Ingredients :
- 500g lean beef mince
- 4 spring onions, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tspn Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- salt and pepper
- Tabasco sauce, to taste
- 1 large red onion, cut into rings
- ¼ cup soya sauce
- 3 tspn soft brown sugar
- lettuce leaves
- 8 thick slices Vienna loaf
- 4 jalapeņo chilies, finely sliced
Preparation and Cooking Instructions
- Combine the mince, onion, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato
paste, coriander, salt, pepper and Tabasco in a large bowl. Mix with
hands until well combined. Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape
into patties.
- Heat a large frying pan or grill plate, brush liberally with oil.
Cook patties 3-4 minutes each side or until brown and cooked through.
While patties are cooking, cook whole onion rings, brushing with combined
soya sauce and sugar until onion is tender.
- Wash and pat dry lettuce leaves with paper towel. Toast bread and
place 4 slices on serving plates. On each slice, place lettuce, a meat
patty, onion rings and jalapeņo chili followed by another slice of toast.
