Ingredients :
- 220g butter
- ¾ cup caster sugar
- 1½ cups plain flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 cups corn flakes
- Dark chocolate for icing if desired
- pecans to garnish if desired
Preparation and Cooking Instructions :
- Preheat oven to a moderately hot 180°C.
- Using your food processor, cream together the butter and sugar and
allow to turn a nice white color. Add the sifted flour and cocoa and
combine well. Then, using a wooden spoon, add cornflakes and mix until
it is well combined.
- Roll out into balls the size of a golf-ball and gently press together.
Place onto a lightly greased paper-lined tray and bake in the oven for
15 to 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- Remove afghans from oven and cool on a cake rack.
- When at room temperature, simply melt some dark chocolate in the microwave
and spoon a little over each afghan and top with a pecan or other nut
of your choice if desired
