Grilled Salmon with teriyaki sauce

Ingredients :

  • 4 salmon steaks
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp rice wine or sweet sherry
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tspn fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped


Preparation and Cooking Instructions :

  1. Combine all ingredients, except salmon steaks, in a small saucepan. Cook until slightly reduced and syrupy. Brush the steaks lightly with the sauce and set aside for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat the grill. Put the steaks on the rack. Brush on a little more of the sauce and grill, not too close to the heat, for 4 minutes. Turn the fish over, brush again with the sauce and grill for a further 3 - 4 minutes or until cooked. Serve with any remaining sauce poured over the top.
