Serves : 2 x 12" pizzas
Ingredients :
- 1 tspn granulated sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp butter, melted and cooled
- 3½ cups all purpose flour
- pinch salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp lemon peel
- 1 tspn cinnamon
Preparation and Cooking Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in the warm water. Sprinkle with
the yeast and let stand 10 minutes or until foamy. Stir in the butter.
- Stir in half the flour along with salt, eggs, sugar, vanilla, lemon
peel and cinnamon into the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in enough of
the remaining flour to make a slightly sticky ball. Knead the dough
on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough into a greased bowl and let rise for 15 minutes. Punch
down the dough, cut in half. Roll out each piece of dough into an 11"
circle. Allow to rise again for 15 minutes.
- Place on a greased 12" pizza pan. With your finger tips press
the dough to fill half the pan working from the center. Rest dough for
10 minutes. Press once again until dough covers pan completely. The
dough is now ready for sauce and toppings.
