Ingredients :
- 3¾ cups cake flour, sifted
- 1½ tspn baking powder
- 1¾ cups butter ~ DON'T use substitutes
- 2 cups sugar
- 1¼ cups egg whites, unbeaten ( about 10-12 eggs)
- ½ tspn vanilla extract
- ¼ tspn almond extract
Preparation and Cooking Instructions
- Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and sift together three
times.
- Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream together until
light and fluffy.
- Add egg whites, ¼ cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add flavoring and beat vigorously.
- Turn into two loaf pans 9"x5"x3" which have been greased,
lined with heavy paper and again greased.
- Bake in slow oven (275°F) 40 minutes; then increase heat lightly
(325°F) and bake 40 minutes.
